Description

Cis-1,3-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid is a hydrogen bond donor that has been used as an intermediate in organic synthesis. Cis-1,3-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid can be hydrogenated to form the corresponding alcohol and oxidized to the corresponding carboxylic acid. Cis-1,3-Cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid has been used to synthesize lipase enzymes. The desymmetrization of cis-1,3-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid by lipases has been studied using diffraction techniques. Dehydrogenation of cis-1,3-cyclohexanedicarboxylic acid has also been studied. This process is catalyzed by the enzyme dehydrogenase and produces the corresponding ketone and alcohol.
