Cyclopenta[fg]tetracene-1,2-dione is a crystalline solid with a molecular formula of C14H12. It is not soluble in water and has a melting point of 130°C. Cyclopenta[fg]tetracene-1,2-dione is stable at temperatures up to 300°C and reacts with the chloride ion. Cyclopenta[fg]tetracene-1,2-dione has been shown to be an efficient electron acceptor for organic molecules in electrochemical experiments. The x-ray structure of this compound has been determined and it belongs to the class of tetracenes. This molecule crystallizes as a monoclinic crystal system with space group P21/c21 and lattice parameters a = 8.906 Å, b = 12.865 Å, c = 8.00 Å, α = 100°, β = 98°, γ
