1,2,4,5-Cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride is a chemical compound with the molecular formula HOC6H3. This white solid is structurally related to 1,2,4-benzenetricarboxylic dianhydride (BTDA). It can be used as a monomer in the production of polyimides. The thermal expansion coefficient of 1,2,4,5-cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride is approximately 3.7 x 10-6/°C. In the dark it fluoresces greenish yellow but in daylight it fluoresces blue to deep red depending on the concentration of impurities. It has been shown that 1,2,4,5-cyclohexanetetracarboxylic dianhydride emits light when heated and that this emission corresponds to an increase in temperature.
