Coumarin 343 is a coumarin derivative that has been used as a marker for the detection of blood in forensic science. Coumarin 343 is stable to light and can be dissolved in methanol. It emits a red light when irradiated with UV light or long-wave visible light. The redox potential of this compound is +0.2 V (vs Ag/AgCl).
