4-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid is a compound that has been shown to inhibit the production of lipoproteins in the liver. It is also an organic solvent and can be used as a chemical reagent. 4-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid inhibits hydrogen bonding, photophysical, and sorafenib activity by binding to chlorinated aromatic rings. This inhibition may be due to the formation of ancillary complexes with metal ions or picolinic acid. 4-Chloropyridine-2-carboxylic acid has been shown to have minimal inhibitory concentrations against many bacteria, including clostridium perfringens and staphylococcus aureus.
