2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzylamine is a drug that has been modified by the addition of linkers. These modifications have led to changes in its cellular and molecular properties. 2-Chloro-6-fluorobenzylamine has been shown to induce apoptotic death in various cancer cell lines, including cells from lung, colon, prostate, breast, and leukemia. It has been used for the treatment of tuberculosis as well as other infectious diseases. The effects of 2-chloro-6-fluorobenzylamine on cell morphology are not well understood but this drug does not appear to induce caspase independent cell death.
