4-Chlorocinnamoyl Chloride is a molecule with antinociceptive properties. It binds to the chloride channel in the trigeminal nerve, which leads to an increase of intracellular chloride concentration and a decrease in pain sensation. 4-Chlorocinnamoyl Chloride shows its binding properties when it is tested on striatal membranes and minimal inhibitory concentration. It has been shown that 4-chlorocinnamoyl chloride has a very high affinity for cation channels, which are found in the membrane of cells. This molecule also binds to amide groups, which are found in many proteins.
