Product Information
CEF10 is a growth factor that is involved in the regulation of cellular proliferation, differentiation, and migration. It has been shown to be involved in renal fibrosis, where it induces the formation of extracellular matrix proteins. CEF10 expression is induced by growth factors such as β-GF and TGF-β. The ectopic expression of CEF10 also induces tissue growth and can lead to the development of muscle.
CEF10 has been shown to inhibit platelet-derived growth factor (PDGF) activity, which may be due to its ability to compete with PDGF for binding sites on the receptor. This competition may result in reduced cell proliferation and differentiation.
