Corazonin is a neurosecretory peptide hormone that is activated by the hypothalamus and released into the bloodstream. It has been shown to have physiological effects on energy metabolism, protein synthesis, and transcriptional regulation. Corazonin lowers the metabolic rate and decreases camp levels in insects, which are both important for regulating metabolism.
