Catalponol is an enolate and prenylation with lippia, which gives it its cytotoxic properties. The prenyl group is then transferred to deoxylapachol, forming a significant cytotoxicity. Catalponol also has asymmetric synthesis that produces greater quantities of the desired product than its mirror image.
