Product Information
4-chloro-2-(phenylethynyl)aniline is a silver catalyst that is used in the hydroamination of terminal alkynes. It has been shown to catalyze the reaction between phenethylamine and ethynylmagnesium chloride to produce 2-phenylethanol, which is then converted to phenylethanone. This compound can be recycled by reacting with silver trifluoromethanesulfonate to regenerate 4-chloro-2-(phenylethynyl)aniline. 4-chloro-2-(phenylethynyl)aniline has also been shown to be a good catalyst for the synthesis of terminal alkynes by reacting with silver trifluoromethanesulfonate and an alkyne such as hexamethylene or octamethylene.
