5-chlorobenzo[d]thiazole is a potential anti-tuberculosis drug that inhibits the synthesis of mycolic acids in Mycobacterium tuberculosis, which are important for the virulence and resistance to antibiotics. The compound has been shown to have antitubercular activity in mice and also inhibits the growth of staphylococcus. The inhibition of lipid levels in cancer cells by 5-chlorobenzo[d]thiazole has been demonstrated using annexin V and flow cytometry. This compound may be used as an anticancer agent in gliomas because it targets DNA topoisomerases that are expressed at high levels in these cells. 5-chlorobenzo[d]thiazole was also found to be able to interfere with the synthesis of mycolic acids from aflatoxins, which could potentially be used for the treatment of liver cancer. 5-chlorobenzo[d]thiazole can inhibit
