Cy7 is a fluorescent dye that is used to detect the presence of an antigen. It can be used in immunoassays and flow cytometry. Cy7 emits a red fluorescence under UV light. The dye has been shown to have diagnostic value for cancer tissues, as it binds to integrin receptor on the surface of cancer cells. This binding increases the uptake of Cy7-labeled chitosan polymer in vitro, which can then be detected by flow cytometry or immunohistochemistry. The uptake of Cy7-labeled chitosan polymer is also increased by acidic conditions.
