It also inhibits the activity of ubiquitin, an enzyme that attaches to proteins and facilitates their degradation. 4-Chloro-6-fluorocinnoline has been shown to inhibit epidermal growth factor receptor (EGFR), a protein that plays an important role in signaling for cancer cell division, and may be useful for treating lung cancers with mutant EGFRs.
