Product Information
5-Chloro-3-fluoro-2-iodopyridine is an organic compound with the molecular formula C5H4IClF2. It is a colorless solid that is soluble in organic solvents. The molecule has a trigonal planar geometry, with three chloro groups and two fluorine atoms occupying the axial positions. 5-Chloro-3-fluoro-2-iodopyridine can be synthesized by the hydrolysis of 5,6,7,8,9,10 tetrafluoro pyridinium diiodide and sodium iodide in methanol. This process also produces 2,5-dichloroiodopyridine (CID) as a side product. 5CI is converted to CID by heating it with diisopropylethylamine. The industrial use of 5CI is as a precursor for 1,4Diaminoanthraquinone
