Description:

1-Chloro-1,2,2-trifluorocyclobutane is a potent and selective inhibitor of the GABA transporter 1 (GAT1) that is used in research to study the effects of GAT1 inhibition on neurotransmission. It has been shown to have an inhibitory effect on human serum albumin. This drug also increases the release of gamma-aminobutyric acid and nicotinic acetylcholine in Xenopus oocytes. The pharmacokinetics of 1-chloro-1,2,2-trifluorocyclobutane are linear with dose. The effective dose for this drug is 0.1 mM, which is a concentration that is higher than what is typically found in human serum.
