Product Information
- Quinoline, 2-Chloro-6-Fluoro-4-Methyl-
2-Chloro-6-Fluoro-4-Methylquinoline is a quinoline derivative that has been shown to be mutagenic. It is metabolized by the liver into an enamine, which reacts with oxygen to form a mutagenic epoxide. This compound is metabolized through a number of metabolic transformations, including oxidation by cytochrome P450 enzymes, reduction by glutathione reductase, or conjugation with glucuronic acid. 2-Chloro-6-Fluoro-4-Methylquinoline also specifically binds to markers expressed at high levels in Mycobacterium tuberculosis strains (e.g., ESX-1 secretion system protein) and inhibits cell growth in culture.
