3-Chloro-2,4,5-trifluorobenzoyl chloride is a chlorinating agent that is used to make carboxylic acid derivatives. 3-Chloro-2,4,5-trifluorobenzoyl chloride reacts with carboxylic acids in the presence of chlorine and a transition metal such as iron or copper to produce chlorinated carboxylic acid derivatives. The reaction proceeds via an electrophilic substitution mechanism. 3-Chloro-2,4,5-trifluorobenzoyl chloride can be used as an antibacterial agent against bacteria such as Pseudomonas aeruginosa.
