Description:
2-Chloro-5-(trifluoromethyl)phenyl isocyanate (2C5IP) is a nucleophilic agent that reacts with electrophiles to form covalent bonds. It has been shown to inhibit the production of cytokines such as tumor necrosis factor alpha (TNF-α) and interleukin 6 (IL-6). 2C5IP does not have anti-inflammatory effects in humans, but its immunosuppressive effect on mice has been observed. This agent also has a pro-inflammatory effect on cells, which may be due to its ability to induce pro-inflammatory cytokines such as IL-1β.
