Product Information
2-Cyclohexyl-1-(4'-trifluoromethylbiphenyl-4-yl)ethanol is an ester that is not stable at room temperature. It has a low vapor pressure and decomposes when heated. 2-Cyclohexyl-1-(4'-trifluoromethylbiphenyl-4-yl)ethanol is resistant to hydrolysis by esterases, which makes it insensitive to metabolism. This compound binds to the GABA receptor in the brain, which may be responsible for its effect on schizophrenia. The binding of 2-cyclohexyl-1-(4'-trifluoromethylbiphenyl-4-yl)ethanol with the GABA receptor inhibits the binding of the neurotransmitter gabaergic, thereby causing an increase in levels of this neurotransmitter.
