Description:
2-Cyclopropyl-6-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)quinoline is a cyclopropyl derivative of the quinoline ring system. The cyclopropyl ring is dihedral and the quinoline ring has a planar geometry. 2-Cyclopropyl-6-chloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)quinoline has been shown to inhibit cell growth in cultures of Mycobacterium tuberculosis, Mycobacterium avium, and Mycobacterium kansasii. This compound has also been shown to be effective against methicillin resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
