1-(5-Chloro-2-Hydroxyphenyl)-3-[2-Chloro-5-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Urea is a profile compound that has been shown to be a potent allosteric modulator of nicotinic acetylcholine receptors. It enhances the binding of acetylcholine, and has been shown to alleviate spontaneous activity in rat brain slices. 1-(5-Chloro-2-Hydroxyphenyl)-3-[2-Chloro-5-(Trifluoromethyl)Phenyl]Urea has also been shown to have anti Alzheimer's disease properties, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the expression of amyloid precursor protein and increase the levels of acetylcholine.
