- 4,4,4-Trifluorobutane-1,3-Diol
5-Cyano-2,2-difluoro-1,3-benzodioxole (5CDBF) is an antibacterial agent that has been shown to have high yield in the synthesis. It was synthesized by methoxy and dipole as a linear regression analysis of pharmaceutical formulations. The molecule is linear with a fluorine atom attached to the 2 position of the benzodioxole ring. 5CDBF inhibits bacterial growth through its ability to inhibit protein synthesis, which may be due to its binding to ribosomes or inhibition of enzymes involved in transcription and translation. 5CDBF also has activity against gram-positive microorganisms such as Staphylococcus aureus, Enterococcus faecalis and Streptococcus pyogenes.
