Erythromycin cyclocarbonate is an inorganic acid that is a polymer of erythromycin. It inhibits the activity of serine proteases and has been shown to be effective against Mycobacterium avium complex, which can cause urinary tract infections in women. Erythromycin cyclocarbonate can be used as a component of combination therapy for treatment of urinary tract infections. It also has antimicrobial activity against other bacterial strains, including Escherichia coli and Staphylococcus aureus.
