Bis(3,4-dimethylphenyl)amine is a synthetic amine that has been shown to be an efficient transfer agent in the synthesis of polyphosphoric acid. It has been used in the acetylation of diarylamines and for the preparation of nitroalkanes. Bis(3,4-dimethylphenyl)amine is also a ligand that has been used in copper complexes with potentials as well as advances in electrophotography.
