Product Information
N2-Methylpyrazine-2,3-diamine (NMP) is a small molecule that has been optimized for its coordination chemistry. This compound is effective as a bactericidal agent and has been shown to have antifungal activity. NMP binds to the active site of the enzyme and prevents it from interacting with substrates, thereby inhibiting protein synthesis. The binding constant of this ligand was determined by titration and FTIR spectroscopy. The bactericidal concentration of NMP is 0.1 mM in acetonitrile at pH 7.5 and 37 °C, which corresponds to an elemental analysis of C13H14N4O4S (calculated C: 57% H: 5% N: 17% O: 18%).
