Copper oxalate hemihydrate is an inorganic salt that is used as a coagulant and flocculant in wastewater treatment. It is also used to remove copper from acidic solutions, such as electroplating baths. Copper oxalate hemihydrate can be made by combining copper sulfate with oxalic acid or sodium carbonate. This reaction generates heat, which can cause the solution to boil if it contains too much water. The solution will turn dark blue when all of the copper has been dissolved and the pH value is less than 2. The solid product that forms can be collected by filtration and dried in a vacuum oven at 100°C for 24 hours.
Copper oxalate hemihydrate is a salt of p-hydroxybenzoic acid and copper(II) cations with the chemical formula Cu2O·CuOH·2HO. It is an inorganic salt that contains no organic compounds and does
