3-(5-(tert-Butyl)isoxazol-3-yl)-1,1-dimethylurea is a chemical compound with an agriculturally useful function. It is a carbonyl group that is used as a soil microorganism inhibitor and has been shown to inhibit the growth of both Gram positive and Gram negative bacteria. 3-(5-(tert-Butyl)isoxazol-3-yl)-1,1-dimethylurea also inhibits lipid biosynthesis in plants by inhibiting enzymes such as acetyl coenzyme A carboxylase. This product is stable to chlorine, fatty acids, and glyphosate. 3-(5-(tert-Butyl)isoxazol-3-yl)-1,1-dimethylurea can be used to control plant diseases caused by fungi such as Triticum aestivum (wheat), which causes powdery mildew or leaf spots.
