Description:
Ethyl 8(Z),11(Z),14(Z)-eicosatrienoate is a fatty acid with three double bonds. It is biosynthesized from linoleic acid. Ethyl 8(Z),11(Z),14(Z)-eicosatrienoate has been shown to inhibit the growth of cancer cells in vitro and in vivo. It also has an anti-epileptic effect, which may be due to its ability to inhibit the production of fatty acids that are involved in seizure generation. This fatty acid inhibits cell proliferation by inhibiting the synthesis of polyunsaturated fatty acids, which are required for cell division.
