Decaborane is a sublimated chemical with high transport properties. It has been used as a diagnostic agent in nuclear medicine, for the treatment of certain cancers, and as an experimental drug for the treatment of HIV. Decaborane has been shown to have a high affinity for nitrogen-containing compounds due to its ability to form a complex with trifluoroacetic acid. The molecule is also able to undergo nucleophilic substitution reactions and can be used in the synthesis of boron nitride.

Decaborane is composed of two boron atoms and 10 carbon atoms that are linked together by single bonds and double bonds. The two central boron atoms are linked together by four single covalent bonds, which gives decaborane its A-B-A' structure. The two outer boron atoms are linked together by one single covalent bond each, giving decaborane its A-B-A' structure.
