Description:

2,3-Dimethylphenyl isocyanate (2,3-DMPIC) is a reactive compound that has been shown to be an environmental pollutant and to cause inflammatory bowel disease in rats. 2,3-DMPIC is also a sealant that reacts with the hydroxy group of polylactic acid and forms a polymerization initiator. 2,3-DMPIC has been found to have a number of industrial uses including as an additive for polyvinyl chloride resins and as an intermediate in the production of other chemicals.
