Description

Dipropyl ether is an ether that has a glycol ether backbone. It is used as a solvent in the production of optical sensors, and it may be used as a carrier for fatty acids. Dipropyl ether also has the ability to transport water, which makes it useful for wastewater treatment. This compound is synthesized by reacting ethylene diamine with two equivalents of propylene oxide.
