N-[4-[[4-(Dimethylamino)phenyl]phenylmethylene]-2,5-cyclohexadien-1-ylidenen]-N-methyl-methanaminium, ethanedioate (1:1) (EMC) is a surface methodology that employs a model system to study the kinetics of various reactions. It is used in the analysis of blood samples stained with cresyl violet acetate and tetrazolium chloride.
