Description:

7H-Dodecafluoroheptanoic acid is a sulfonic acid with the chemical formula CH3(CH2)7SO2F. It is a fluorinated fatty acid that is used as an oxidation catalyst for wastewater treatment and in the production of perfluorinated compounds. This chemical is also used to produce some pharmaceuticals, such as Valium, and it can be found in human serum. 7H-Dodecafluoroheptanoic acid has been shown to have low toxicity to muscle tissue and can be oxidized by sodium carbonate at high temperatures.
