This drug has been shown to reduce the effects of certain drugs like cyclosporine and tacrolimus by inhibiting their metabolism. 3,5-Difluoro-alpha-hydroxybenzeneacetic acid 2-(2-ethyl-4-hydroxy-3-methylbenzoyl)hydrazide has also been shown to modulate the effects of certain drugs like acetaminophen. The drug can be used as a sensor to detect other chemicals in the body such as erythromycin, clindamycin, or ketoconazole. It may be used for termination of pregnancy and lowering blood pressure in patients
