Description:

2,4-Difluorophenylboronic acid is a boronic ester with two hydroxyl groups. It has two functional groups: hydrogen bond and fluorine. This compound is a light emitter with the wavelength at 360 nm. The molecule contains an ancillary ligand that stabilizes the negative charge on the phenyl group. 2,4-Difluorophenylboronic acid is also a boronate ester with a coordination geometry of octahedral and a cross-coupling reaction mechanism. The compound can be synthesized in three steps starting from picolinic acid and boron trichloride.
2,4-Difluorophenylboronic acid has been shown to have an optical property of fluorescence emission when exposed to UV light at 365 nm and blue light at 460 nm.
