Description:

2,5-Dimethyl-1-phenyl pyrrole-3-carboxaldehyde is a non-fluorescent compound that is immobilized to the surface of a quartz crystal microbalance (QCM) sensor. The QCM sensor is then used to measure the mass of the adsorbed molecule. The adsorption density is calculated by measuring the change in mass as a function of time. This process was first reported in 2006 using an experimental technique involving bilirubin oxidase and methyl groups to probe the enthalpic and entropic contributions of this reaction.
