Description:
2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenylhydrazine is an organic compound with a chemical formula of C6H2ClF3N. It has been used as a catalyst in the hydrogenation of ethylene to ethane. 2,6-Dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenylhydrazine is soluble in organic solvents and reacts quickly with hydrazine to form the hydrazone. This reaction can be catalyzed by alkali metals such as sodium or potassium. The optimum conditions for this reaction are at a temperature range of -5°C to 50°C and a pressure range of 0.1 MPa to 8 MPa. Characterizations have shown that mixtures containing 2,6-dichloro-4-(trifluoromethyl)phenylhydrazine have been obtained from the reaction between it and different organic compounds
