Description

The 8-(Difluoromethoxy)-1-Ethyl-6-Fluoro-7-[4-(2-Methoxyphenyl)Piperazin-1-Yl]-4-Oxoquinoline-3-Carboxylic Acid is a proton pump inhibitor that blocks the H+/K+ ATPase enzyme, which is required for acid secretion. The inhibition of this enzyme leads to decreased acid production and an increased pH in the stomach. 8-(Difluoromethoxy)-1-Ethyl-6-Fluoro-7-[4-(2-Methoxyphenyl)Piperazin-1-Yl]-4-Oxoquinoline-3 Carboxylic Acid has been shown to be effective in reducing gastric acidity in patients with gastroesophageal reflux disease (GERD). In addition, this medication is used to treat Zollinger Ellison syndrome
