Product Information
- Glutaric acid, 2,2-difluoro-
- Pentanedioic acid, 2,2-difluoro-
2,2-difluoropentanedioic acid is a diazotrophic molecule that is capable of synthesizing nitrite from atmospheric nitrogen. It has been shown to be active against Trichomonas vaginalis by inhibiting its motility and structural integrity. This molecule has also been studied for its ability to activate the elongatus protein in cyanobacteria, which then causes a calcium signal that induces cell division. 2,2-difluoropentanedioic acid also has the potential to act as an antibacterial agent by binding to bacterial cells, disrupting their membrane potential and causing cell death.
