Description:

1,2-Difluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzene is a mitotic spindle poison that can be used to inhibit the mitotic kinesin. It is a highly reactive compound with a high affinity for electron acceptors and can have adverse effects on the environment. 1,2-Difluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzene is an industrial chemical that has been shown to have mitotic activity in vitro and in vivo. It has been shown to be effective against both dihydrobenzofuran and benzene moieties. The synthetic process of 1,2-difluoro-3-(trifluoromethyl)benzene involves the use of potassium tertbutoxide which reacts with 2-chloro-1,1,2-trifluoroethane in the presence of dimethylformamide.
