2,6-Difluorobenzenesulfonamide is a ferrite that is used as a pharmacological treatment for the treatment of leishmaniasis. The drug has been shown to have an effective dose in the range of 50-100 mg/kg and to be well tolerated in humans. 2,6-Difluorobenzenesulfonamide has been shown to be effective against cancer cell lines, such as leukemia and melanoma, and also against life cycles of parasites such as Leishmania. This drug has not been studied for long term safety or toxicity.
