Description:
2,2-Dimethyl-1-(2-(dimethylamino)ethyl)triphenylphosphonium bromide is a trimethylsilyloxy substituted aliphatic hydrocarbon. It is a colorless crystalline solid that has been shown to have antihistaminic activity. Preparative methods for the compound include reacting triphenylphosphine with an alkyl halide and subsequent reaction with dimethylamine in the presence of potassium carbonate.
