2,3-Dihydro-1,4-dioxino[2,3-b]pyridine (DDNP) is a nucleophilic compound that binds to leukotriene A4. It can be synthesized by prenylation of 2,3-dihydro-1,4-dioxino[2,3-b]pyridine with an amide. DDNP has been shown to have antiproliferative effect in vitro and in vivo. This effect has been attributed to the activation of calcium channels and inhibition of protein synthesis. DDNP is also an inhibitor of nitric oxide synthase and a competitive antagonist of LTB4 receptors. The stereoisomers and isomers are important for its biological activity.
