Description:

Diglycolic anhydride is a reactive chemical that has been used in the synthesis of various biologically active compounds. It has been shown to inhibit prostate cancer cells and extract infectious diseases-causing bacteria. This chemical also has antimicrobial properties, which may be due to its ability to form covalent bonds with phosphate groups in DNA. Diglycolic anhydride is biocompatible and can be used as a polymerization agent or a reactant in cyclic peptide synthesis. It produces polybasic amides and calcium chelates that have inhibitory effects on the growth of bacteria, including methicillin-resistant Staphylococcus aureus (MRSA).
