Description

Diethylene glycol monobenzyl ether (DEGMBE) is a corrosion inhibitor that is used in the production of polyvinyl chloride. It has been shown to have synergic effects with radiation and alkanolamines, which are typically used to clean metal surfaces. DEGMBE can also be used as a disinfectant, hydroxyl group and optimum concentration. It is often used in neutral phs and at low concentrations. This compound has shown low energy properties, which may be due to its viscosity and monocarboxylic acid groups. DEGMBE has been studied for its biological effects on bacteria, yeast, fungi, algae and plants.
