Description:

1,3-Dimethyl-1H-pyrazole-4-carboxylic acid (DMPC) is a pyrazole derivative that has been shown to be a potent inhibitor of the enzyme acetylcholinesterase. It inhibits the breakdown of acetylcholine in the synapses, thereby increasing its concentration and enhancing transmission of nerve impulses. DMPC also has shown to be effective against numerous weeds, including Echinochloa crus-galli. In addition, it can be used as an herbicide or pesticide to control environmental pollution by inhibiting the growth of algae and weeds. The reaction product with formaldehyde may be able to form medicines or pesticides.
