Description:
3,5-Dimethylisoxazole-4-carboxylic acid is a metabolite of the antidepressant drug amitriptyline. It has been shown to have an affinity for cardiac ion channels and has been found to be cardioprotective in a model system. 3,5-Dimethylisoxazole-4-carboxylic acid also has antiviral effects on HIV and hepatitis C virus.
