Description

Dichlorocarbene is a chemical compound that is a colorless gas with a pungent odor. It has been used in the laboratory to synthesize other organic molecules, such as styrene. Dichlorocarbene is one of the simplest and most reactive chlorocarbons. It has been shown to be an electron-deficient molecule, which can be explained by its constant molecular geometry and electron distribution around the central carbon atom.
