2,4-Dichloro-6-methoxy-1,3,5-triazine is a derivative of 2,4-dichloro-6-methylphenol that has been synthesized and tested for its in vitro efficacy against human cells. This compound is an efficient photosensitizer that can be used to produce singlet oxygen when exposed to light. The compound has been shown to have genotoxic effects on the cell nucleus and high resistance to drug absorption. It also has been shown that this compound emits light at a wavelength of 350 nm. This compound is commonly used in confocal microscopy and optical systems with a diameter of less than one micrometer.
